In Colombia, children are taking the lead in fostering peace and reconciliation, working together toward one common goal: "To be active agents in the construction of peace."
The Peacebuilders Movement in Colombia, initiated by World Vision and co-led by Mayerly Sanchez, was created out of the desire by Colombian children to participate in building and sustaining peace.
Your gift will help enable this Nobel Peace Prize-nominated movement to expand and will help support similar, youth-driven peacebuilding activities in other countries in which World Vision works.
Your gift will support the following activities:
- Enabling children to participate in workshops that use art, music, dance, and sports to provide trauma healing and promote tolerance.
- Sending children to reconciliation summer camps, which encourage youth to use non-violent means to resolve conflicts.
- Empower children to serve as representatives of their communities in children's peace clubs where they will learn to change their own social environment by promoting peace and reconciliation.
"Peace is our gift to each other."
