Profiles of World Vision's U.S. leadership
 |  | Richard Stearns, President
Richard Stearns brought nearly 25 years of corporate experience to World Vision when he became its president in June 1998.
Stearns holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His professional career began in marketing with the Gillette Company. From 1977 to 1985, he held various roles with Parker Brothers Games, culminating in his appointment as president in 1984. In 1985, he became a vice president at The Franklin Mint, then joined Lenox in 1987 as president of Lenox Collections. In 1995, Stearns was named president and chief executive officer of Lenox Inc., overseeing three divisions, six manufacturing facilities, 4,000 employees, and $500 million in annual sales.
As president of World Vision Inc., Stearns is responsible for U.S. operations, which include fund raising, advocacy, and program development. World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. Stearns is passionate about helping children and families affected by the worldwide AIDS crisis and has made this a priority for the organization.
Stearns and his wife, Reneé, have been World Vision supporters since 1984. The couple has five children and lives in Bellevue, Washington. |

 | | Atul Tandon, Senior Vice President, Donor Engagement
Atul Tandon oversees private donor engagement and fund raising, including the acquisition, growth, and servicing of corporate and individual donor relationships. Prior to joining World Vision in 2000, Tandon served at CitiGroup/CitiBank as Global Branch Distribution Director and lead marketer for consumer Internet businesses. He received his MBA from the University of Delhi, India. |

 | | Joan Mussa, Senior Vice President, Advocacy and Communications
Joan Mussa leads public policy, advocacy, branding, and media relations efforts for World Vision. She also directs the organization’s Internet content and publishing ventures. Mussa has served at World Vision for nearly two decades, first as a video journalist in Kenya and later as creative director of donor materials and head of corporate branding and communications. Mussa holds a master’s degree in broadcast production and management from the University of Michigan. |

 | | George Ward, Senior Vice President, International Programs
George Ward collaborates with the international Partnership of World Vision to facilitate the overseas allocation of resources from government grants, corporate donated goods, and individual donors. He joined World Vision in 2005 after a distinguished career in public service, including serving as U.S. Ambassador to Namibia and promoting conflict resolution at the U.S. Institute of Peace. |

 | | Larry Probus, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Larry Probus directs World Vision’s finance, information technology, legal, and corporate service functions. A CPA with 25 years’ experience in public accounting and corporate finance, Probus joined World Vision in 2003. |

 | | Julie Regnier, Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Julie Regnier oversees the human resource functions of World Vision, serving more than 800 employees in 27 states. She has specialized in human resources work since 1985, and has served at World Vision since 1995. Regnier has master’s degrees in Public Administration and in Gerontology from the University of Southern California. |

 | | Mike Veitenhans, Senior Vice President,
Corporate Development, GIK, and U.S. Programs
Mike Veitenhans has served World Vision for 14 years in multiple leadership roles and now leads the teams responsible for national work with corporations, U.S. programs, and gifts in kind. Mike received his BS in Business Administration from Western International University, and is a graduate of Arizona State University’s Nonprofit Management Institute and the American Graduate School of International Management’s (Thunderbird) Leadership Program. |
