Web 2.0 and Social Networking Intern

What We Need

Acting on AIDS has a great summer internship opportunity for someone with a desire to steer the next generation of online advocacy around global poverty and injustice. We are looking for someone with experience and interest in developing programs and strategies around social networking and Web 2.0 technology, including developing applications for Facebook or other platforms and formulating strategies to create awareness and promote activism through up-and-coming communication channels on the Internet. Applicants are required to have knowledge of Javascript, HTML, AJAX, and XML. In addition, it is preferred that applicants understand Facebook API’s, PHP, SQL, and Google Open API.

Internship opportunities are available over the summer at World Vision’s Seattle/Tacoma, Wash. offices. Housing assistance is available and time commitment is negotiable. Fall internship opportunities will be available in both Seattle/Tacoma and Washington, DC. Let us know if you are only capable of interning offsite.

Acting on AIDS is a program started by Christian college students to create awareness and promote activism of the global AIDS pandemic at colleges and universities across the nation. Motivated by their faith in Jesus Christ and with the support of World Vision, college students have formed a network of Acting on AIDS chapters that seeks to change hearts on campus, create awareness in communities, and advocate for those affected by the global AIDS pandemic.
