· Guide to Creative Activism
· Microfinance 101 (a new focus for AoA this year)

· Information about the Day of Prayer and Advocacy (Wednesday, October 1), including a Leaders’ guide, prayer points, and the Prayer and Advocacy Pledge

Organize

To initiate and maintain a strong movement on your campus, create a network of contacts. Develop and manage a list with the names, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers of all active or interested students on your campus, as well as the contact information of local community and church leaders with whom you can partner.

Utilize Facebook! Make sure to add the latest Acting on AIDS groups, applications, and events. Also, set up your own Acting on AIDS presence, specific to your campus and community. Create a group, message your members, and add events to keep people informed on your campus.

Share

Don’t let your passion for justice fade into merely sporadic activities. Plan out and commit to spend consistent, intentional time with the rest of your AoA campus group. Stay informed and share news articles, recent studies, and videos to keep your group informed and actions relevant to current justice issues. Visit the AoA Web site and use the News Around the World page as a resource to stay updated with the latest news on health, poverty, hunger, and global crises.

Encourage your team to check out the new AoA Web site (coming soon!) which will regularly have new articles posted from AoA leaders like you as well as leading voices on AIDS, poverty, and injustice. Send your group’s contact information to receive bi-weekly communication from Acting on AIDS, keeping you informed on issues and current events, as well as prayer and action points.

Mobilize

Unite your group with action! Funnel your passion for justice into tangible efforts. Use creative activism to promote awareness, partner with local organizations, and develop a volunteer corps. Apply your understanding of the neighboring community and find a way for your campus to meet the needs of others. Be creative… and keep us posted! We’re all part of this movement together, so let’s share ideas!

Together for Justice,

The Acting on AIDS National Team

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

Acting on AIDS is a program started by Christian college students to create awareness and promote activism of the global AIDS pandemic at colleges and universities across the nation. Motivated by their faith in Jesus Christ and with the support of World Vision, college students have formed a network of Acting on AIDS chapters that seeks to change hearts on campus, create awareness in communities, and advocate for those affected by the global AIDS pandemic.
