WHY:On September 29th, an 8.0 earthquake generated a tsunami that struck the islands of Samoa and American Samoa, killing more than 200 people, destroying villages, and badly damaging infrastructure. World Vision staff are on the ground assessing needs and working through partners to provide emergency items. Supplies to help support long-term recovery and rebuilding will also be distributed, such as school supplies, building supplies, and cleaning items.
