JPMorgan Chase and World Vision Bring Hope to the Children of Haiti

WHAT:
Three months after the devastating January 12th earthquake in Haiti, global financial institution JPMorgan Chase employees are teaming up in Miami to show tangible support for the children and families of Haiti, through international aid agency World Vision.

More than 100 local JPMorgan Chase employees from the Miami area will assemble 2,000 World Vision “Promise Packs” for the children of Haiti. Promise Packs are special backpacks filled with school supplies, basic personal hygiene items and a blanket. In addition, a personal note from each employee will be included in the backpack.

The JPMorgan Chase Foundation recently gave World Vision a $150,000 grant to help its relief efforts.

WHO:
Once assembled, the Promise Packs will be sent at the appropriate time to World Vision relief efforts and established programs in Haiti. In the last three months since the quake, World Vision has touched the lives of millions of children and families.

· Food distribution has reached over 1.5 million people;
· Water and sanitation services reach about 14,000 people each day
· Child-friendly spaced are attended by 3,000 children each week
