New York, NY (September 19, 2011) — "The Best Start," a World Vision nutrition report, will be launched next week. In it, World Vision will lay out a path for reaching the millions of the children that are not yet part of this success story and offer interviews with our experts invited to the launch.
"The great progress in reducing child mortality announced by the UN today is proof that when governments make it a priority to provide the cost-effective interventions we’ve seen work time and again, children’s lives are saved. However, the success is a global average that includes dismally unacceptable results in some countries and communities. The poorest children and rural children are still being left behind. Governments must reach them with improved nutrition to give them the best start in life and must make sure essential health services reach all communities." – Kevin Jenkins, President and CEO of World Vision International
