Seattle, WA (November 17, 2011) World Vision recently launched a new collection of T-Shirts to raise awareness and funds for drought and famine response in the Horn of Africa. The organization is partnering with Made for Good, a collective of brands that use sales to raise money for charities. The T-shirts are the first product line for World Vision’s new GIVEN brand, an apparel line developed to help fund the organization’s emergency response and development efforts.

Each T-shirt in the Horn of Africa collection is priced at $24, with 30% of each sale donated to World Vision’s famine relief response in Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia and Tanzania.

The GIVEN brand reflects the belief that our capacity to give is directly related to our understanding of what has been given to us. GIVEN is the sixth apparel brand to join the Made for Good consortium.

“We want a way for people to visually show their support for those who are affected by the deadly famine in the Horn of Africa,” explains Keith Kall, Senior Director of Global Partnerships at World Vision. “We believe these Famine T-Shirts will help people raise awareness about World Vision’s service to the children and families in greatest need in the Horn of Africa.”

World Vision’s drought and famine response is bringing life-saving relief and long-term development to children and families in the Horn of Africa through community-based programs in nutrition, health, education, water and sanitation.

The Made for Good collective includes the Jedidiah brand, a long-time partner of World Vision, most recently designing and selling a t-shirt collection to benefit the Japan earthquake response, which raised over $40,000.

“By purchasing products with the Made for Good badge, consumers are able to give back to those in need through their everyday purchases,” explains Krista Treide, Chief Brand Officer and Co-Founder of Made for Good. “We are incredibly proud to have the opportunity to work with World Vision on GIVEN and the Horn of Africa T-shirt collection.”

In addition to the GIVEN apparel site, the Horn of Africa collection will soon be available through select retailers. To support World Vision’s relief efforts in the Horn of Africa, please visit www.worldvision.org or call 1.888.56.CHILD (1.888.562.4453).
