Kohler Co. Public Relations
Seattle, Washington (May 25, 2012) — Last month at the national Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Chicago, World Vision honored Kohler Co. for the third time as its Crystal Vision Award winner. A leader in kitchen and bath design and technology, Kohler was World Vision’s first Storehouse corporate donor and accepted the inaugural award 11 years ago.
Since 1996, Kohler has partnered with World Vision domestically, through a network of eight World Vision Storehouses across the United States. Those Storehouses distribute goods donated from corporate partners like Kohler to more than 1.6 million people in low-income communities. Through its relationship with World Vision, Kohler donates plumbing products for distribution to those in need.
“Kohler Co. is not only a global leader in plumbing, but a global leader in their commitment to improve the quality of life of people wherever they do business,” said Efrain Perez, corporate relations director for World Vision. “We could not be prouder to partner with Kohler to bring critically needed supplies, and hope, to the vulnerable families World Vision serves.”
Kohler has assisted people like the Rice family in Chicago, where the mother needed assistance to replace kitchen and bath fixtures in her daughter’s home, which had fallen into disrepair while she was serving her second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Or the Appalachia high school in West Virginia whose students can now participate in a hands-on, experiential building facility and maintenance shop program and earn credits towards vocational certification because of the plumbing products Kohler has donated. Their instructor says previously, the students only had books to learn from.
Or the Acrey family, who after the 2011 Tuscaloosa tornadoes that destroyed or severely damaged over 13,000 homes, was able to afford to rebuild their new home with the help of building materials from donors like Kohler Co. through World Vision.
Kohler has had a strong culture of stewardship since its inception in 1873, visible globally through the humanitarian efforts of its associates as well as corporate leadership. Whether related to a specific issue, such as water conservation, or to the general well-being of others, the company encourages its associates to take action in and make a positive impact on the communities where they work and live.
“Kohler Co. and our associates around the world believe in enhancing the quality of life for current and future generations,” said David Kohler, president and chief operating officer of Kohler Co. “Our company humbly accepts the Crystal Vision Award and thanks the World Vision Storehouse for this recognition.”
