Dallas, TX (May 23, 2012) — With only one week remaining until the official June 1 start of Atlantic hurricane season, the Christian humanitarian organization, World Vision, is strategically preparing now to respond by prepositioning relief supplies along the Gulf Coast. On Wednesday, May 23, World Vision loaded and deployed nearly 35,000 pounds of relief supplies into a disaster response trailer to deploy from the organization’s Domestic Disaster Headquarters in Grand Prairie to its partners along the Gulf Coast. Supplies including: blankets, clothing, toiletries and cleaning supplies, will be prepositioned in Jackson, Mississippi for distribution during anticipated hurricane response efforts in Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi and neighboring states.
