Answers to questions about your donor account

Find the answers to some of the most frequently-asked donor questions below.

Can I review my account information online?

If you have created an online account with World Vision, you can review your account information on the web. You will first need to sign in using the email and password associated with your account — or, if you do not yet have an account, you can set one up.

If you have forgotten which email address is associated with your account, find your account here.

If you forgot your password, you can request to have a temporary one emailed to you at the sign-in page.

My online account doesn’t show all my past contributions. What should I do?

Online donations may take five to seven business days to post to your account. Donations sent to World Vision through the United States Postal Service may take up to two weeks to process. You may also have more than one World Vision account. To merge your records into a single account, please contact us at 1-888-511-6548.

Can I change my giving method or provide a new credit card number online?

Yes. Just sign in to set up your auto payment plan or provide your new credit card number.

How does World Vision benefit when I sign up for automated giving?

The automated giving plan allows your donation dollars go even further when you sign up for electronic funds transfer (EFT). World Vision is able to save on printing, processing, and postage fees, allowing more dollars to go to your sponsored child and his or her community.

How do I change my address online?

If you want to edit or delete an address, sign in to your address book using the email address and password associated with your account.

To create a new address, select the “create new address” button and select the “preferred address” box. To update an existing address, select the “edit” button and update the address.

What is a “preferred address”?

Your preferred address is the mailing address where you will receive all correspondence that cannot be sent by email.

Why can’t I delete my preferred address?

World Vision requires that a preferred address be specified at all times. If you want to delete a preferred address, you must first specify a new preferred address prior to deleting your existing one.

To delete your preferred address, sign in to your address book using the email address and password currently associated with your account. To create a new address, click the “create new address” button; then, enter the new address and check the “preferred address” box.

To delete the address previously specified as a preferred address, select the “delete” button. Please contact a donor service representative at 1-888-511-6548 for additional information.

I have forgotten my password. Can you reset it?

World Vision cannot tell you your current password, but we can assign you a new password and send your sign-in information to your email address. Provide us with your name and email address or account number, and we will email your sign-in information to you.

Is it safe to donate online with my credit card?

All response forms requesting confidential information (such as credit card numbers) on World Vision’s website utilize the internet security protocol known as “Secure Sockets Layer” or “SSL.” This is a certification and encryption technology designed to make using your credit card as safe as possible on the web.

Independent agencies report that, statistically speaking, using a credit card on the web through SSL is far safer than submitting your credit card to a clerk in the grocery store, or over an open telephone line. In fact, they report that there are no recorded instances of someone “breaking” SSL encryption and using credit card information stored therein for fraudulent purposes.
