World Vision at the Summit

The 2012 G8 summit will be held in Camp David, Maryland on May 18-19. World Vision is urging leaders to meet the Millennium Development Goals and existing G8 commitments by increasing the levels of funding, improving humanitarian coordination and accountability, implementing a global action plan for maternal and child health, and ensuring adequate food and nutrition security for communities. The stage is set: now it is up to world leaders to show they have the resolve to keep their promises.

    May 17, 2012This event will connect senior leaders from the White House, Department of State, Congress, USAID, UNICEF, SUN Lead Group, World Bank, and NGOs. It will showcase U.S. and global efforts to tackle maternal and child malnutrition, highlight Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) country progress, and build support to improve nutrition-particularly for women and children in the critical 1,000 day window from pregnancy to a child's second birthday. The #HungerFree photo exhibit will also be featured at this event.
