Located at the heart of our nation’s capital, our D.C. office is within close proximity to the U.S. government, other development organizations, and professional associations. You’ll gain experience working in a fast-paced, internationally focused environment and be exposed to the operational side of a humanitarian organization within the greater context of international work.

What types of internships are available?

The D.C. office offers internships in a variety of areas. These may include program quality and effectiveness, grant acquisition and finance, advocacy, communications, and information management.

What are managers looking for in an intern?

Managers in the D.C. office are looking for potential development professionals who are highly motivated and committed to excellence, take initiative, and have relevant experience or coursework. Overseas experience and foreign language skills are preferred.

When are internships available?

Internships in the D.C. office are offered year-round, in fall, spring, and summer.
