Nathaniel Hurd serves World Vision's Advocacy & Government Relations team as the Policy Advisor for Conflicts and Disasters. He represents World Vision on these issues with the Congress, US Government, media, and the American public.

Nathaniel's experience spans over 11 years working on international humanitarian issues with non-governmental organizations and as a consultant, including a special focus on Iraq.

He was a policy lead on the Iraqi humanitarian crisis at the International Rescue Committee and interviewed displaced Iraqis, aid workers, and government officials in Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon. At Mercy Corps, he led the agency's policy engagement on foreign aid and Sudan, including a fact-finding mission to Darfur. Nathaniel was formerly a New York City-based independent consultant on U.S. and United Nations’ Iraq Policy, advising non-governmental organizations, diplomatic missions, and journalists. He has appeared on many major media outlets and authored several reports on humanitarian issues.

Nathaniel graduated from Hamilton College with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs with a Masters of International Affairs.
