 |  | Joseph Mettimano is vice president of advocacy for World Vision. In this role, he leads a team of advocates, advisers and campaigners who cover a wide range of issues that affect children and the poor around the world.
His technical expertise is focused on children in crisis and child protection issues. In this capacity, he has served as a technical adviser and lead advocate on child exploitation issues for World Vision, UNICEF USA, and various international coalitions. |
Drawing on 13 years of advocacy experience, Mettimano has testified before the U.S. Congress on child exploitation issues. He has drafted legislation, created national and global advocacy campaigns, published articles, created field programs, and has given presentations at universities and professional workshops around the world.
Prior to joining World Vision, Mettimano served as the deputy director of public policy and advocacy with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF (the U.S. representative and partner of the United Nations Children’s Fund).
He has served in leadership positions with a number of respected coalitions, including the ONE Campaign, the Campaign to Ban Landmines, and the Campaign to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers.
Mettimano holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University.
