Rory Anderson, Deputy Director, Advocacy and Government Relations

Anderson advocates for increased U.S. attention to human rights and development issues and focuses on regions affected by conflict or disaster. She played crucial roles in promoting clean diamond trade, funding for children affected by AIDS and peace in Sudan. She also co-authored a World Vision report on the impact of war on children in Northern Uganda. Read more…

Senior Director Global Heath and HIV/AIDS Hope Initiative, Martha Newsome

Martha Newsome, Senior Director, Global Health and the HIV/AIDS Hope Initiative

Newsome leads World Vision’s effort to increase and intensify responses to the AIDS pandemic in more than 90 countries. Her work focuses on reducing the global impact of AIDS through World Vision programs and partnerships focused on HIV prevention, care and advocacy. Newsome holds a master's degree in public health from Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Heath.

Director, Advocacy and Government Relations, Robert Zachritz

Robert Zachritz, Director, Advocacy and Government Relations

With almost 15 years of congressional experience, Zachritz manages a team of advocates and creates strategies for World Vision’s engagement with the U.S. government on public policies. His areas of focus include the annual meetings of the G8, international development assistance, food aid and global health issues. Zachritz holds an MA in International Trade/Business from George Mason University and has traveled to more than 30 countries.

Emergency Response Specialist, Rose Craigue

Rose Craigue, Africa Operations Director

Craigue provides technical expertise to emergency operations in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean regions. In her seven years with World Vision she has managed large relief programs in Kenya, South Sudan and eastern Congo. Craigue also served with Catholic Relief Services in Ethiopia and managed tsunami programs in Indonesia and Sri Lanka for Lutheran World Relief. Craigue holds an MA in Humanitarian Assistance from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Romanita Hairston, Vice President, U.S. Programs

Romanita Hairston, Vice President, U.S. Programs

With 12 years of leadership experience with World Vision, Hairston leads the organization's U.S. Programs division which works in 11 cities throughout the country. She oversees partnerships with more than 4,000 organizations as well as programs that serve some 1.7 million beneficiaries. She holds an MBA with an emphasis on leadership in non-governmental organizations from Eastern University in Philadelphia.

Phyllis Freeman, World Vision U.S. Director for Domestic Disaster Response

Phyllis Freeman, Director, Domestic Disaster Response

Phyllis Freeman became World Vision's Director for Disaster Response in March of 2009 after 12 years of service in the field with World Vision. She leads World Vision's response to emergencies throughout the western U.S. Among her many accomplishments, Freeman opened World Vison's Storehouse operations in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Picayune, provided oversight to the disaster management work related to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, and most recently provided field site leadership for World Vision's work in Los Angeles.

Randy Strash, World Vision U.S. Strategy Director for Emergency Response

Randy Strash, World Vision U.S. Strategy Director for Emergency Response

Strash has worked with World Vision for nearly 28 years, of which half was spent with the Emergency Response team and the other half supporting long-term development in Africa. Currently, he coordinates U.S. fundraising efforts for relief responses worldwide. Strash holds a Master’s in Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton. He has lived in six countries and traveled on work-related business to some three-dozen countries.
