Is World Vision a trustworthy organization?

At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do — because we recognize that every resource entrusted to us can transform real children’s lives.

As part of our stewardship, we optimize resources and distribute them where they are needed most. We carefully monitor and review programs and costs, use donations and grants for their intended purposes, and look for ways to leverage funds for maximum impact.

In addition, we continually strive to keep our overhead rate low. In fiscal year 2011, 86 percent of our total revenue went to programs that benefit children, families, and communities in need.

Our effectiveness has earned the trust and support of more than 1 million donors, thousands of churches, and hundreds of corporations, institutions, and government agencies around the globe.

Are contributions to World Vision tax-deductible?

Gifts to World Vision, a 501(c)(3) organization, qualify as charitable contributions and are tax-deductible. Whether or not a particular gift to World Vision is fully tax-deductible may depend on your own financial situation. We suggest you contact a tax advisor if you have any questions.

How much does World Vision pay its staff?

World Vision pays its hired staff commensurate with the cost-of-living index for the Western Region, which includes the Seattle area, and the Puget Sound area of the state of Washington's weighted average for similar, non-manufacturing industries. The salaries of World Vision executives are considerably lower than their peers in the industrial/business sector.
