Using the Giving Toolbox with your group can:

  • Rally your friends, club, neighborhood, sports team, troop, or other group behind a common purpose
  • Provide a meaningful way for your group to make a difference together

We'll provide you with everything you need for a fun, easy experience. Your kit includes:

  • A DVD with inspirational videos — experience other cultures, learn how the Gift Catalog has changed lives around the world, see how others have used the Giving Toolbox, and inspire your group to action
  • A poster to remind everyone of the fundraising goal — personalize and hang in your group's meeting place
  • A PowerPoint presentation to introduce the project to your group — use as-is after personalizing with your group's goal, or use as a template to share your own message
  • Basic information sheet to send home with your group members — edit as desired, print, copy, and distribute
  • Customizable flyer — choose a photo from our collection and create your own unique announcement


A few fundraising ideas for your group

Choose from this list, or create your own!

  • Set a group goal and pick out items from the catalog to donate together.
  • Host a Gift Catalog party and invite your friends, neighbors, and family to a "party with a purpose," requesting donations from partygoers for items in the Gift Catalog.
  • Sell tickets to a fundraising lunch, brunch, or barbecue.
  • Cook a culturally themed dinner with dishes from countries that might receive Gift Catalog items, and have guests donate toward an item or items for the catalog. Search for recipe ideas on the Internet!
  • Choose an alternative to your group's holiday or other gift exchanges by pooling your funds to donate an item from the catalog.
  • Hold a garage sale and advertise that the proceeds will provide a specific Gift Catalog item.


One group's story: A party with a purpose

"We held a 'Christmas party with a purpose' to benefit World Vision. Everyone contributed and we raised $2,621! Wow! We were thrilled.

We had a grand time singing to karaoke and dancing and enjoying wonderful food that everyone prepared and brought to the party.

We also had a special table set up where people could look through the Gift Catalog and read letters from sponsored children. We are thrilled that we raised enough money to 'buy the farm' which will provide a lasting impact...

Some of my friends were reading the stories from the catalog to their children — educating them about the way of life for children in other countries.
