- Who receives SchoolTools backpacks?
-
SchoolTools backpacks are distributed to students in your area through a local World Vision Storehouse or local nonprofit organization serving children in need. World Vision Storehouses are located in Appalachia (West Virginia), Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle/Tacoma, Twin Cities, and Washington DC. If you are not near any of these locations, World Vision will help you find a local nonprofit or other partner who can ensure the backpacks are given to those most in need.
- Can I choose where backpacks are distributed?
-
World Vision reaches out to children most in need in the U.S. These children may have experienced a natural disaster or may be living in an area where there is a high percentage of children at risk. If your group is already working with a local school or nonprofit organization and would like to offer SchoolTools backpacks as a part of this partnership, please contact SchoolTools.
- Who participates in assembling SchoolTools backpacks?
-
Anyone can assemble SchoolTools backpacks! Churches have assembled backpacks to come together and serve in a hands-on way, Corporations have assembled backpacks as part of a team-building event, or a community service activity.
- How do I get started?
-
Decide how many backpacks you’d like to assemble and begin your fundraising. Contact SchoolTools by registering online (add sign-up form link) to let them know you are planning a backpack event. We will work with you to help make this a great event for your group.
- How far before an event date do you need to place an order?
-
Please allow 3 weeks before the event to place the order.
- Who is World Vision?
-
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
Besides our international work with children in nearly 100 countries, World Vision works in eight major urban and rural areas in the U.S., giving hope to those in need and resources to those who are leading the way in the fight against poverty here at home. We partner with local businesses, schools, churches, local non-profit organizations, and children and their families to help transform communities.
