Companies match their employees’ gifts to World Vision in a variety of ways: > Child sponsorship When an employee is a World Vision child sponsor, some companies contribute to World Vision’s general child-care fund in the same amount as the sponsor’s commitment. > Cash Hundreds of corporations match one dollar (or more) for every dollar their employees donate to designated charities. > Products Certain businesses allow employees to purchase company products, such as software, at a discount and donate the items to designated charitable organizations. The employer then gives the charity a "matching" gift in the amount of the product’s cash value, resulting in twice the benefit. > Gifts of stock Many companies match gifts of securities that their employees give to World Vision. As with cash donations, these contributions generate a tax deduction for the individual as well as the company.
