Together we’re helping Haiti rebuild.
The Haiti earthquake was an unprecedented disaster for the Western Hemisphere, killing at least 230,000 and leaving millions homeless and in need of aid. Now, in the heart of hurricane season, an estimated 2 million people are still living in 1,300 camps in and around Port-au-Prince. They are still in need of prayer and support.
People need land where they can resettle and transitional shelters to protect them. From June through November, these displaced children and families are especially vulnerable to the effects of a second disaster: a hurricane.
Thankfully, gifts from partners like you continue to bring hope to Haiti. In the first six months following the earthquake, your assistance enabled World Vision to distribute aid to more than 1.8 million people and operate 10 health clinics and 22 Child-Friendly Spaces. As we continue to support families in displacement camps, we are focusing on long-term rebuilding and preparing communities to face future disasters.
