| World Vision’s History in Armenia World Vision’s Armenian ministries were initiated in December 1988, after a devastating earthquake claimed the lives of 25,000 people and left another 500,000 homeless. World Vision continued to provide food and medical relief, and other assistance for victims of this tragedy for several years afterwards, and in 1994, a community development and shelter winterization project was created to assist those still suffering from the effects of the earthquake. Currently, World Vision’s programs in Armenia help promote microenterprise development, rehabilitate community facilities, and integrate disabled children into the public school system. |
