Randy StrashRandy Strash has worked for World Vision in various capacities for over 30 years. Half of that time was spent as part of the emergency response team; the other half involved supporting long-term development in Africa. In his current role, he is responsible for the coordination of fundraising efforts for World Vision’s WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) campaign, which seeks to raise $250 million over the next five years for integrated WASH interventions in 16 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean.

Prior to the WASH Campaign, Randy helped launch World Vision’s HIV, disaster response, hunger, and malaria prevention campaigns, all now well underway. In his “spare” time, Randy has taught a number of graduate-level courses at the University of Washington and Seattle University as an adjunct instructor in their schools of non-profit management. He’s a current member of the Rotary Club in Federal Way, Washington, as well as a past board member of the World Trade Center of Tacoma, and ACCORD, an industry trade association.

Randy holds a bachelor’s degree in comparative religions and a master’s degree in public administration, with a concentration in international economic relations, from California State University-Fullerton. He is the son of a bush pilot, and as such had the rare experience of growing up in six countries on three continents (Mexico, France, Mali, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti, and the United States). Over the years he has traveled on work-related business to some three dozen countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean.

When Randy isn’t working, he is probably fishing. He loves to fish for salmon in Puget Sound and for tuna in the open ocean. When he travels overseas, he usually carries a pack rod with him “just in case.”
