More About Steve

Steve’s Biography

Steve Reynolds enlightens audiences on such topics ranging from the AIDS pandemic to maternal and child health to child protection, which includes child sexual exploitation, child labor, and street children. Having lived in Africa and Asia for 12 years, Steve has first hand knowledge of the devastating effects of these issues on children.

Steve brings the perspective of 30 years of experience working with World Vision. He shares about how the organization works on the ground to accomplish its mission. Early in his career, he was involved with many of World Vision’s emergency relief responses, beginning with the Ethiopia famine of 1984-85, where more than 3 million people starved to death as a result of drought and conflict.

It was there in Ethiopia that Steve first met Bono and his wife Ali as they served in a World Vision feeding center for a month, in the wake of Live Aid in 1985. He talks about how Bono’s journey to Ethiopia led to a global movement to end extreme poverty and AIDS. During his presentation, Steve recounts personal anecdotes to illustrate the shocking statistics surrounding these issues.

Steve currently manages World Vision’s advocacy integration and campaigns team.
