Hope Prayer Chain: June 2007

Please Pray …
  • FOR HopeChildren to acquire knowledge to avoid high-risk behavior that may lead to HIV infection. HopeChildren are children in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and 13 African countries, all of which are heavily impacted by AIDS.
  • THAT volunteer home visitors would continue to gain knowledge, skills and strength to address the physical and emotional needs of orphans, vulnerable children and chronically ill people.
  • THAT community-based organizations, churches and local leaders would advocate and care for HopeChildren, especially in the absence of parental figures.
  • FOR children affected by conflict, specifically in Uganda as the government and rebels, known as the Lord’s Resistance Army, resume peace talks.
  • FOR children who have been abducted and are vulnerable to sexual abuse, violence and infection of HIV and other diseases.

Take Action:
  • Send a message to your members of Congress. Ask them to support the Child Soldier Prevention Act, a bill to help stop the use of children as combatants and sex slaves.
  • Host a global dinner to present friends with opportunities to sponsor a HopeChild.
  • Forward this page to a friend (see forward-to-a-friend button, in the right column).
