Hope Prayer Chain: February 2008

Pray ...

  • For the expansion of the Channels of Hope program into Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Latin America, and its integration into other prevention pilots. The program challenges church congregations and leaders to support HIV prevention efforts in the community and reduce the stigma against people affected by HIV and AIDS.
  • That Congress will work quickly to pass the Global AIDS bill, which will provide prevention and treatment for people impacted by the pandemic.
  • That children and youth will acquire values and knowledge to protect themselves against HIV. World Vision's experiences in Zimbabwe and Uganda show prevention efforts focused on children and youth can have a lasting impact.
  • For the reversal of health worker shortages in developing countries. The World Health Organization has called for an increase of more than 4 million workers to help with HIV and AIDS prevention and care.
