DuPont and 150 Fabricators produce 4000 countertops to help families in need

This September, employees at 150 DuPont Certified fabrication shops across the United States donated their time as part of the Fab4000 Event. The purpose was to fabricate 4,000 vanity tops, made from solid surface material donated by DuPont. These vanity tops, made specifically for charitable donation, will be distributed through The Storehouse of World Vision to benefit low-income families across the United States.

"So many people want to do good. They want to give back, but they don’t think they can make a difference," says Dave Gerali, president and CEO of Gerali Custom Design Inc. in Elgin, Illinois. Gerali's workers helped prove otherwise. "A little bit of effort makes a huge difference when you band together."

For DuPont Certified fabricator Chris Marques of Marques Countertops, donating his skills and time is just one opportunity to return the generosity he was shown after Hurricane Katrina destroyed his shop and home one year ago. “There were people that really had compassion for us, they listened and helped meet our needs. That’s why we want to be a part of things like the Fab4000 event – because of people like them. That’s the lesson I’m taking from all this.”

In addition to DuPont and the work of their partner fabricators, other manufacturers including Mansfield Plumbing Products, Moen, Price Pfister, Grohe, Kallista, MasterBrand Cabinets and Masco Retail Cabinet Group, will donate other components to help make complete bathroom vanities for families in need.

Thank you DuPont, for your innovation and generosity, and for creating a unique business partnership that will benefit thousands of families in need.
