World Vision –
Helping Families Rebuild in the Gulf Coast Region

World Vision is helping children and families in Louisiana and Mississippi as they recover from one of the worst natural disasters to hit America. We are working with churches, faith-based and community organizations with clean-up, repair and rebuilding efforts. Clothing, personal care items, household goods, and school supplies are being distributed to help families impacted by the storm. Construction supplies such as flooring products, windows, doors, bathroom fixtures, paint, insulation, roofing materials, and cleaning supplies are a mainstay of the program. Gifts will help improve the quality of life and restore the vitality of communities in this region.
For Kim Thompson, World Vision's help has been a tangible reminder of God's love. After Katrina destroyed their home, she and her husband Bev were turned down for loans, and the money from insurance didn't come close to what they needed.

"I just want to thank every person who was kind enough to...allow God to use them to give to us, people that they didn't even know, strangers that they've never even met — We are going to rebuild, and we're going to use the stuff World Vision is providing for us," Kim says. "They're providing us not only just building materials for a house, but a foundation for our life."
