VIDEO: Sponsorship becomes key to girl’s education and future

Before she was reached by child sponsorship, Maureen’s mother could barely afford to feed her or provide her with proper clothing, much less send her to school. But thanks to the support of a generous sponsor, the future is now brighter for this Zambian girl.

“When my daughter received her first letter from her sponsor, I was overjoyed,” says Maureen’s mother. “I now had another family to help me raise my daughter.”

Indeed, Maureen has come a long way since living in a state of poverty in her Zambian community. With all the supplies she needs provided through her sponsorship, she’s now able to stay in school and pursue her dream of someday becoming a teacher.
