 By sponsoring a child, you know the joy of making a difference for a boy or girl living in poverty. Your own life has also been changed: You understand the needs of the world in a personal way, and you know what's possible when people share their blessings.
Many of your church friends may never have had the opportunity to sponsor a child. Yet thousands of children are waiting for someone to reach out to them with help and hope.
Now you can be a catalyst for changing hearts and changing lives. A Child is Waiting provides you with all the tools you need to share child sponsorship with your congregation. Join with sponsors across the United States seeking compassionate people to care for children in poverty.
We invite you to hold your event the first weekend in May or October, when many churches across the country will participate. Or you can do it another time that’s more convenient for you and your church.

It’s easy
To learn more or to present A Child is Waiting at a church service, Sunday school, or small group, just follow these easy steps:
- Order our Information Brochure to learn more about the program and introduce it to your church.
- When you are ready to begin planning order our Event Planning Kit. Many of the materials can be downloaded online.
- Seek the approval of your pastor or church leadership to host a sponsorship event.
- Once you get approval and have a plan, order our Starter Kit that will provide what you’ll need to promote and host your event.
- Arrange for a table so you can display pictures of children waiting to be sponsored and sign people up for sponsorship.
- Share your sponsorship experience from your heart and show a World Vision video.
- Be available after your church service or event to be able to answer questions and help sign up new sponsors.
