Motivated by Jesus' example of compassion toward children, Bob Pierce began recruiting everyone he could to sponsor impoverished children.

That's how World Vision was born.

Today World Vision is working in 103 countries. Of these, 47 are providing sponsorship for more than 1.1 million children. The heart of World Vision Sponsorship is still the singular act of one person reaching out to help a child in need.
