The Hope Initiative is an unprecedented campaign to address the needs of children, families and communities that have been devastated by the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. There is an urgent need to mobilize the Christian community and the general public around the global HIV/AIDS crisis. World Vision is asking Americans to join together to care for the millions of orphans, widows and other vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS and to support the charitable work of World Vision at the local level to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Through the Hope Initiative, World Vision is helping to turn the tide against HIV/AIDS around the world. Orphans and vulnerable children often do not have enough food to eat, have no access to proper medical care, can not attend school, and face abuse and neglect. They are growing up without the loving hand of a parent in their lives. In many cases, they must care for sick and dying parents, and care for younger siblings.
