Faith fuels our work and supplies our staff with wisdom and ability, our donors with the resources they share, and enables our recipients to work toward the fulfillment of their dreams. World Vision began in China in 1950 as one man's dream and passion to help children in need. That dream has blossomed today into a family of over 11,000 committed men and women, working in nearly 90 countries to serve 1.3 million sponsored children, and supported by more than a million donors worldwide.
World Vision helps communities, families and their children trapped in the vicious cycle of poverty to overcome difficult circumstances and achieve their dream of self-sufficiency. Whether through emergency relief or ongoing development, World Vision staff represent Jesus Christ's love and compassion for people impacted by wars, poverty, or disaster.
