annual report 2000

honoring those who have given their lives in service

World Vision’s Annual Report for fiscal 1998 told the story of Dr. Pedro Díaz Negrete, a former sponsored child, who had returned to his hometown as a physician to provide health care to the region’s poorest people.

In September 2000, Dr. Díaz was the victim of a random shooting, one among many taken in the rampant violence plaguing Colombia today. Dr. Díaz had become a World Vision staff member prior to his death.

The following is a list of other World Vision staff members* who have given their lives in service to the poor in the name of Jesus Christ.
