> You Can Make a difference
  • Take action now by sponsoring a HopeChild — an orphan or vulnerable child living in a community with a high prevalance of HIV/AIDS.
  • Give a one time gift that will care for orphans and widows and support effective prevention education.
  • Write your Congressman or Senator. Tell them that YOU CARE about the children suffering from this disease, and you want more money to be available for care, prevention and treatment programs.
  • Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper encouraging people to learn more about what HIV/AIDS is doing to children, families, and communities around the world, and what we can do to turn the tide against HIV/AIDS.

  • One Life Revolution is especially designed for your church or youth group to provide much-needed care for orphans and widows in Zambia who are suffering as a result of the HIV/AIDS crisis. Your support can provide things like education, medical supplies, or blankets and even water wells, ehomes, or schools. By raising funds to purchase specific items or services, your action will show the love of Christ to those in need.

  • Get involved with SchoolTools. Across the country, church congregations, Sunday school classes, home schooling families, and others are working together to gather up the needed supplies and assembling SchoolTools kits to send to needy children worldwide.

There is so much we can do together to turn the tide against AIDS.
  • > Our Stewardship
After more than 50 years of experience getting results for those who need it most, World Vision is an effective and efficient steward of relief and development help around the world.

87% of each dollar raised goes directly to those in need.

We work hand-in hand with local churches and community leaders to multiply the impact of your contribution by:

    CARING for children and families.

TEACHING the next generation essential life skills, including effective prevention methods such as abstinence and fidelity.

WORKING TOGETHER with local groups to advocate for more effective responses to the pandemic.

    > Our Impact
World Vision is highly qualified and well positioned to continue making a significant impact and saving lives.

Our experience and success in helping orphans and vulnerable children
World Vision has more than a decade of experience in working with AIDS-impacted communities to meet the special needs of orphans and vulnerable children. We have also helped achieve measurable gains in preventing the spread of AIDS, using proven methods, including abstinence-based programs for teens.

We address spiritual as well as physical needs.
Our staff strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ, acting as his hands and feet and showing his love and grace to suffering children and families.

    Our partnership with local churches
World Vision’s partnership with local churches is an important advantage, enabling us to reach as many community members as possible in a long-lasting way. In most communities where we work, the church has more potential than any other institution to promote HIV-prevention and provide care to those suffering from or left behind by the disease.

    Our grassroots, community-based approach
We work at the grassroots level, partnering with communities to provide support for their neediest children and families, and addressing the root causes of the spread of AIDS.

    > Our Faith in Action
As followers of Christ, we are to care for all people, but Scripture particularly mandates caring for the orphan and the widow.

According to God's commands, our own daily life of following Christ is intricately connected to our care for "the least of these."

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
    James 1:27

"Whatever you did for on e of the least of these ... you did for me."
    Matthew 25:40
"My commandment is this, Love each other as I have loved you"
    John 15:12

Based on the commands and example of Jesus and other biblical authors, Christians in America have a responsibility to demonstrate the compassion of Christ by reaching out to the millions of people worldwide who are affected by HIV/AIDS. Christians should be on the front lines of this battle through prayer, action, and giving.
