honoring World Vision's founder and his family

A stellar event in World Vision’s 50th anniversary was the dedication service of the Pierce Family Chapel. Lorraine Pierce, accompanied by her family, celebrated with the staff as Board Chairman, the Rev. Dr. John Huffman, read the following proclamation in honor of the occasion:

"Whereas World Vision this year commemorates its fiftieth anniversary of ministry, it is with humility and utmost gratitude to our Lord that the following be proclaimed to all. Be it hereby resolved that in recognition and honor of the life and service of World Vision’s founder, the Reverend Robert Pierce, and the sacrifice and dedication of his entire family to the well-being of the world’s children, the Chapel located at the headquarters in Federal Way, Washington, will henceforth be known as the Pierce Family Chapel. This proclamation is made on this day, the twenty-ninth of September in the year of our Lord two thousand."
