Copyright 2004 World Vision Inc. |  | Atul Tandon is World Vision’s senior vice president of marketing and communications. In this role since 2000, Tandon oversees the recruitment, growth and cultivation of World Vision’s 2.5 million donor relationships via fund-raising, donor outreach functions, public and media relations and communications services, including video, radio, Internet and book publication.
In addition, Tandon serves on an international executive team that provides operational leadership to World Vision’s global partnership.
In the mid-1980s, Tandon served as chief executive officer of a Responsive Hire Purchase, a subsidiary of First Leasing in Madras, India. Under his leadership, Responsive Hire Purchase introduced commercial leasing into Indian capital markets for the first time.
In 1987, he joined Citigroup/Citibank’s Global Consumer Bank first as a business development manager, and then two years later as area director and vice president.
Tandon moved to the United States in 1992, continuing with Citibank as a district manager in Los Angeles and sales director in San Francisco. While in California, Tandon also taught graduate and undergraduate courses at the University of San Francisco’s Business School.
In 1998, he moved to New York to serve as global branch distribution director and senior vice president.
Tandon holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Delhi in India.
