Copyright 2004 World Vision Inc. | | Kevin Hunter is World Vision’s vice president for U.S. programs. In this role since 2001, Hunter oversees all of World Vision’s community development programs addressing poverty issues in the lives of children, youth and families in 10 of the most difficult communities in the United States.
World Vision’s U.S. programs equip local organizations to effectively and holistically serve children and youth in their communities. In these efforts, World Vision partners with organizations such as Christians for Faith Based Initiatives, Appalachia Community Cares, World Servants, Northwest Leadership Foundation, School Home Office Products Association and Christian Community Development Association.
Hunter joined World Vision in 1996 to launch Vision Northwest, an initiative that integrates World Vision’s various programs in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Within four years, Vision Northwest’s budget grew from $140,000 to $2.1 million.
Prior to joining World Vision, Hunter served 12 years for Young Life, most recently as the metro director for Young Life programs in Pierce County. In that role, Hunter managed staff at 23 ministry sites throughout the city and provided oversight to a wide range of church and school partnerships focusing on outreach to youth. In addition, he developed a regional economic development and job-training program for inner city youth.
Hunter holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. He also has completed theological coursework through Fuller Seminary and training in fund raising strategies.May 2004 |
