Copyright 2004 World Vision Inc. |  | Larry Probus is World Vision’s senior vice president of strategic solutions and chief financial officer. In this role since 2003, Probus is responsible for the organization’s financial, legal and information systems.
Probus began his career as a certified public accountant at Coopers and Lybrand. Following four years of service there, Probus joined Brown-Forman Corporation, where he would spend the bulk of his career.
From 1981 to 1983, Probus served as treasurer for Brown-Forman’s offshore manufacturing facilities in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Republic of Ireland.
During the next six years, he served in a variety of roles including director of business analysis, executive assistant to the president and assistant vice president for corporate development.
In 1989, Probus was named vice president and chief financial officer for Lenox Collections, a $100 million direct marketing subsidiary of Brown-Forman.
In 1993 Probus returned to Brown-Forman and, over the next eight years, held a variety of roles, including vice president of corporate development and vice president of business planning and analysis, as well as serving as the company’s chief accounting officer.
From 2001 to 2003, Probus served as senior vice president of finance and was responsible for reporting, planning, and business analysis activities as well as treasury, tax and investor relations.
Probus graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Western Kentucky University and is a certified public accountant.
