Copyright 2004 World Vision Inc. |  | Since 1991, Dr. Sri Chander has served as the Regional Health Advisor for World Vision's Asia Pacific region, overseeing the development and implementation of all World Vision regional health policies and programs, including 18 HIV/AIDS prevention and control projects.
He also works in collaboration with Asian Research Center for Migration (ARCM), Chiang Mai University, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India Social Rural Research Institute and Macfarlane Burnett Institute in conducting qulitative and quantitative assessments of the statues of HIV/AIDS and related behaviours, as well as risks and vulnerabilities of mobile social groups in the region.
Dr. Chander is involved with child survival health care and tuberculosis control projects in Asia. As Regional Health Advisor, Dr. Chander represents World Vision at all United Nations regional health conferences and other forums. Dr. Chander acts as a medical spokesperson for World Vision to key bodies including the United Nations, World Health Organization, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Ford Foundation, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Prior to his present postion, Dr. Chander worked as a primary health care physician in India and Singapore, and as a Medical Officer at an U.N. High Comissioner for Refugees/World Vision-supported refugee camp in Singapore.
