Steve Matthews is the relief communications manager for World Vision, on call to respond immediately to humanitarian emergencies around the world. Based temporarily in Amman, Jordan, he is working with the agency’s relief team on preparations for a possible war in Iraq.Matthews has worked for World Vision in Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, El Salvador, Iraq, Kosovo, Mozambique, Peru and Sudan. With extensive experience in radio and television journalism, he serves as reporter, photographer and videographer for World Vision
From 1997 through 2000, Matthews served as media and public relations director for World Vision’s offices in Canada. Before joining World Vision, he worked as a radio and television journalist, radio program host and music programmer. For 11 years, he worked for the number-one-ranked radio station in London, Ontario.
Matthews holds a degree in radio broadcasting from Ontario’s Fanshawe College. In 1997, he earned a corporate communications and public relations certificate from the same institution.
