> World Vision Helping to Rebuild and Revitalize Gulf Coast Churches and Community Organizations

For other story ideas and resources, contact John Yeager.

After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita left our country with the worst natural disaster in U.S. history, World Vision responded quickly by bringing together our domestic experts and world-class disaster specialists. We partnered with churches and organizations on the front lines of relief efforts. We provided urgent necessities like clean water, clothing, shoes, mattresses and personal care items for distribution to children and families, along with Bibles for those who requested them.

From tiny Sonset Noblesse Church in Dallas to mega-churches like T.D. Jakes’ Potter’s House, World Vision has been partnering with hundreds of compassionate congregations in demonstrating God's love to affected families. To assist with communities' long-term recovery, World Vision has offered grants to enable local churches to continue serving affected families and to rebuild their own structures.
