Dangers and challenges facing the world’s two billion children will be the focus of the annual World Vision forum, entitled, “Precious in His Sight,” October 24 to 25 in Dana Point, California. Speakers will include Rick and Kay Warren of Saddleback Church, evangelist Louis Palau, Sandra Thurman of the International AIDS Trust and Kul C. Gautam, U.N. assistant secretary general and deputy executive director for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

During the two-day event in the coastal town north of San Diego, participants will discuss the effects of such threats as HIV/AIDS, sexual exploitation, war, injustice, hunger, and poverty on children in the U.S. and internationally.

“The Bible tells us again and again that children – especially those who are in the greatest need – are precious to God,” said Richard E. Stearns, president of World Vision in the United States. “But too often, those of us with the means to help them don’t see them at all. Our hope is that this forum will change that.”
