Leaders to Speak Out in Los Angeles Against the Spread of HIV/AIDS

World Vision will host “A Christian Response to the Global AIDS Crisis,” as part of its multi-city Hope Tour next week in Los Angeles.

The forum will feature Rich Stearns, president of World Vision; Princess Kasune Zulu, HIV-positive AIDS activist and World Vision AIDS educator; Sandra Thurman, head of the International AIDS Trust and former director of the White House Office of AIDS Policy; and Kay Warren, AIDS activist and wife of Saddleback Church pastor Rick Warren.

The event is part of a series of speaking engagements designed to bring awareness to the Los Angeles community about the effects of the global HIV/AIDS epidemic.

“Many Americans have no idea about what HIV/AIDS is doing to communities, families – and especially children – in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe,” said Stearns. “We believe that when they learn how they can help fight the spread of this terrible virus, they will respond with Christ’s love.”

The forum will be held Tuesday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Chapman University in Orange. Free tickets for the event can be obtained by calling 888.303.2003 or by emailing hopela@worldvision.org.
