The Negev desert of Israel is home to 150,000 Bedouin Arabs. For generations, they have roamed from country to country, but many have settled in Israeli villages and towns. They remain some of Israel’s most impoverished citizens. Reporter Shia Levitt tells us about one woman who is breaking the mold of the typical Bedouin wife. She not only raises five children, she’s also earning a PhD in clinical psychology.
