| Imagine for a moment that you had no photographs at all of your mother, father, your children, or other family members. That’s what aid worker Mark Biech encountered in Romania. Romanian gypsies are among the poorest people in Europe and many families in one particular village told him they had never had a photograph taken of their family. Biech wound up photographing the entire village of 2,000 people. He talks about it in this trackless essay. |
