| Being a reporter that travels to the far corners of the world sounds very exciting, but reporter Michael Kavanagh reminds us in a Reporter’s Notebook that journalism can be tedious and frustrating. On a recent visit to Chad, the car he rented got stuck in the mud for five hours. The glamor of being an “international reporter” very quickly faded in the muck and mire of a rain-soaked road in Chad -- particularly when several women rode by on mules just laughing at his plight. |
