| For those who suffer from severe mental illness, even simple tasks can sometimes be overwhelming. There is a unique program providing personalized care to 600 people living with mental illness in Oregon. The Personal Assistant Program pairs the mentally ill with the mentally ill to help with daily chores such as shopping, going to the doctor, or cleaning house. Doctors say the work is therapeutic and it saves tax dollars. Ann Dornfield reports. |
