Doc in a Box?
Listen to the:
In most poor countries around the world, there’s a huge shortage of doctors. Pulitzer Prize winning science writer Laurie Garrett was thinking about this problem when she came up with “doc-in-a-box.” While the idea is still in its early stages, a prototype clinic was developed in Haiti earlier this year. Laurie Garrett believes container clinics ultimately could make portable medicine a reality for those countries that need it most.
