On the other side of the divide, passions run equally high. Thirteen Israelis have been killed since the beginning of hostilities, seven of them soldiers. Israelis in towns near the Gaza border live in constant fear of rocket attacks.
Just after we spoke with Dr. Haddad in Gaza, we spoke with Barbara Ederi in the town of Sderot in southern Israel. She's originally from Brooklyn, but has spent the last 17 years in Sderot. Host Peggy Wehmeyer asked her how the conflict affects everyday life for her and her five children. |
